Bosch respects your privacy

The protection of your privacy throughout the course of processing personal data as well as the security of all business data are important concerns to us. We process personal data that was gathered during your visit of our Online Offers confidentially and only in accordance with statutory regulations.

Collection, processing and usage of personal data

Processed categories of data

The following categories of data are processed:

  • Communication data (e.g. name, telephone, e-mail, address, IP address)
  • Contractual master data (e.g. contractual relationships, contractual or pro-duct interest)
  • Client history
  • Contract accounting and payment data
  • Planning and regulation data
  • Transaction data
  • Provision of information (from third parties, e.g. credit reference agencies or from public directories)

Principles

Personal data consists of all information related to an identified or identifiable natural person, this includes, e.g. names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, contractual master data, contract accounting and payment data, which is an expression of a person's identity.

We collect, process and use personal data (including IP addresses) only when there is either a statutory legal basis to do so or if you have given your consent to the processing or use of personal data concerning this matter, e.g. by means of registration.

Processing purposes and legal basis

We as well as the service providers commissioned by us; process your personal data for the following processing purposes:

Duration of storage, retention periods

Principally, we store your data for as long as it is necessary to render our Online Offers and connected services or for as long as we have a legitimate interest in storing the data (e.g. we might still have a legitimate interest in postal mail marketing after fulfillment of our contractual obligations). In all other cases we delete your personal data with the exception of data we are obliged to store for the fulfillment of legal obligations (e.g. due to retention periods under the tax and commercial codes we are obliged to have documents such as contracts and invoices available for a certain period of time).

Use of cookies

1) Bosch cookies

Bosch uses cookies and active components (e.g. JavaScript) to track visitors‘preferences and customise the design of the websites.

Cookies are small text files stored on your computer when you visit our website. If you like, you can delete the cookies at any time. However, this can result in some functions no longer being available. For information on deleting the cookies, please consult your browser‘s help function.

2) Third-party cookies

Some Bosch websites incorporate content and services from other providers (e.g. YouTube, Facebook, Google, Twitter) who, in turn, may use cookies and active components. Bosch has no influence on the processing of personal data by these providers.

Please note that the option provided by Bosch to configure settings for cookies used has no effect on cookies and active components from other providers (e.g. YouTube, Facebook, Google, Twitter).

Use of the Webtrends web analytics tool

Bosch uses the Webtrends web analytics tool to carry out access measurements.

The access data is collected in anonymized form so that it can no longer be traced back to a user. In particular, this is done by anonymizing the IP address.

Cookies are used for metrics to enable website usage to be analyzed. In particular, Bosch uses them to improve data quality. The information generated about the use of websites is transmitted anonymized to the statistics server (statse.webtrendslive.com) which is operated by Webtrends Inc, 555 SW Oak Street, Suite 300, Portland, OR 97204, United States (“Webtrends”) in the United States of America.

Only authorized persons have access to this anonymized data.

Use of social plugins as part of social media

1) Facebook

Bosch websites use social plugins ("plugins") from the social network Facebook.com, which is operated by Facebook Inc., Palo Alto, CA, USA ("Facebook"). The plugins are identified with the Facebook logo or the suffix "Facebook", "like", or "share".

If you visit a page on our website that contains such plugins, they are initially disabled. The plugins are not enabled until you click the button that is provided. By enabling the plugins, you establish the connection to Facebook and declare your consent to the transmission of data to Facebook. If you are logged into Facebook, Facebook can associate the visit with your Facebook account. Bosch websites use the YouTube video platform operated by YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Ave. San Bruno, CA 94066 USA. YouTube is a platform that enables playback of audio and video files.

When you load a page on our website, the integrated YouTube player establishes a connection to YouTube in order to ensure the technical transmission of the video or audio file. When the connection to YouTube is established, data is transferred to YouTube.

4) Twitter

If you are logged into Twitter, Twitter can associate the visit with your Twitter account. Use of external links

Bosch websites may contain links to third-party websites operated by providers that are not associated with us. After you click the link, we no longer have any influence over the collection, storage, or processing of any personal data transmitted by clicking the link (such as the IP address or URL of the page that contains the link), as the behaviour of third parties is, by nature, beyond our control. Therefore, Bosch is not responsible for the processing of personal data by third parties.

Use of personal data and purpose specification

Bosch or a service provider engaged by Bosch uses your personal data for the purpose of technical administration of websites, customer administration, product surveys, enquiries you submit to Bosch and only in the scope necessary for this purpose or according to the description of processing purposes given at the corresponding locations of our websites. Our employees and the service providers engaged by Bosch are obliged to maintain confidentiality and to comply with the provisions of the Protection of Personal Information Bill.

In addition, the compliance to all necessary technical and organizational measures will be ensured.

Chat

Within the scope of this website, we give you the opportunity to contact Bosch by means of a chat.

While using the chat, we store the chat conversation/history. At the end of the chat, these files will be deleted after 12 weeks.

Security

Bosch takes security precautions to ensure that your data we have under our control is protected against tampering, loss, destruction, access by unauthorised persons, or unauthorised disclosure. Our security measures are being continuously improved in accordance with the state of technological developments.

Advertising

When you provide us with personal data, we use it to inform you about our products and services and, where applicable, to include you in surveys about them, provided you have given us your express consent to use your personal data for advertising purposes. If you have granted your consent for such use, but no longer wish to receive advertising from Bosch, you can revoke your consent at any time. Your data is then deleted, or provided that it is necessary for billing and accounting purposes, blocked accordingly.

Revoking consent

You can also revoke your consent to the collection, processing, and use of your personal data for the future.

The personal data will be deleted if the consent for the storage will be revoked, if the knowledge of the personal data for the performance of the purpose is no longer necessary or if the storage of the personal data is inadmissible due to other legal reasons.

Data which is necessary for billing and accounting purposes or which is subject to the legal obligation to preserve is not affected.

Right to complain to a data privacy authority:

You are entitled to file a complaint with a data privacy authority. You can contact either the data privacy authority responsible for your place of residence or German federal state, or the data privacy authority responsible for the Bosch Group.
